Op veler verzoek eindelijk mijn Kerstboom:
Now let me show you my Christmas tree:

Tadaaa!

Well, I know I could easily fool you, but it isn't mine!
Let's take a closer look:

You all know that I could impossibly have that many cake toppers, as I am still with my first husband hehehe! This tree belongs to these guys, well done again!
To tell you the truth I don't have a tree yet. But there is still plenty of time!

Last weekend we had something else to do:

Our front doors^

Here she is: our birthday queen, celebrating her sweet sixteen.
I don't have many photos though, as I was so busy entertaining the guests. I always take photos of other peoples parties and forget our own! Of course I wasn't invited for the big party with her friends, duhhhh!

When I was visiting the Christmas market I discovered that our city had a new piece of altered art at one of the focal points. Usually there are about 200 bikes here, which is forbidden. You can put your bike in guarded areas for free, but people are just to lazy. Now there is this piece of art and there is a message on the ground: this place is meant for walking and for buying but not for your bike! Mmm not everybody understands art, as usual.

I told you it was altered art, or should I say recycled art?
This piece was made of kitchen counter tops and you can look through the sink holes!
Who would ever have thought of a second life of his/her kitchen counter top here? I like to think that mine is here too!

In the mean time the dull grey autumn weather has changed into wintery freezing but sunny weather. My youngest already has Christmas holidays, starting last Friday, as his school is going to move and they cannot use the pupils right now. So we are taking a rest, perhaps a blog break, doing all kind of fun things and enjoying each others' company. I think that is what Christmas is all about.
I don't have much time for blog visits, but I try to do my best.
Enjoy your Christmas decorations!
You are way ahead of me!
Thanks for your visit!
hugs, LiLi.

groetjes LiLi

Oh congratulations!! How exciting, to have a 16 year old daughter.{most of the time} No rush, in Holland we used to get the tree decorated the night before Christmas when I was a little girl.
Merry Christmas, Dutch friend, may you have the best memory-making days. Geniet er van.xoxo Lidy

Oh Lili , you did have me fooled…
I was thinking just how clever that tree was and thought maybe
you were celebrating an important year for your wedding anniversary.

I hope your daughter had a wonderful sweet 16.
And I wish you and your family a Very Merry Christmas....

Enjoy your blog break and have fun with your kids…

Louise

P.s. Love how your blog looks...

Well the tree is beautiful no matter who's it is!
How I would love to have a real live tree, my allergies are so bad I can't even have the boughs, although one of these days I will do it, I miss that beautiful smell and the excitement of putting the tree up on Christmas Eve..... those were the days!
I do hope you all had a wonderful time at the sweet sixteen party!!!
Take care and enjoy the holidays with your family!
Hugs,

Marja

Merry Christmas Lili!
What a fun tree - love all the cake toppers. Happy sweet 16 to your daughter. Both my girls are December babies - I totally understand the "not taking pictures at your own party" thing. Happens to me all the time... Enjoy your family time!

Ma chère Lili!! Je suis très contente de te voir!!! Oh my dearest, what a joy to see you back! And thank you for your kind, kind words!!! What a beautiful front door you have!! I just love those European homes in the city. And your daughter is now 16! You must have celebrated well! Oh, the holidays are coming and I am so excited....both my husband and I will have 2 glorious weeks of REST. We too are having such cold temperatures in the single digits, but the warmth of love and friendship truly blesses the moment and I am just loving my first BLOGGING CHRISTMAS. Having met wonderful friends like you, it is a joy to correspond, even if it is once a week, with suchh caring people. I am trying to avoid stress at all costs, and since it is just my husband and myself, we keep things quiet and easy. I wish you a happy week, full of fun and love my dear, lovely Lili. Bisous! Anita

Hoi Lili,
Leuke post weer.

groetjes Lia

Hahaha, je laatste zinnetje doet me goed!

casa nostra said...

groetjes,

Hi dear LiLi! I also don't have much time for blog visits, but now I am here to say hello! Funny tree - first I really thought, it's yours (why not?). I also have no tree (and I don't want to say "not yet": Since years we don't have a "normal" Christmas tree...) May be, next week I will show our variation of "Christmas-Tree" in my blog. I also want to say congratulations to your daughter: Happy 16!!! Enjoy it, it's a good age! Hugs and have a wonderful time, Traude

Hallo LiLi,
2010.
Groetjes Anja
