Woonbeurs Amsterdam 2010

The Woonbeurs (interior decorating fair) started today and I was there. Sharing some photos with you:
I think this hot spot, the craft corner at the 'VT Wonen huis', with the French post office table, is my absolute favorite spot. I would love to have such a table, but they are so expensive. Look at the patchwork rug!
Another highlight in the VT Wonen house is this tapestry/bag made out of old jeans. I would love that in a boys room, but my boy prefers to decorate his own room. I don't blame him for that!
You know that I love suitcases and trunks, well they do at the '101 house' too!
These vintage boxes decorated with fabrics are tdf!
Yellow is definitely back.
Hanging plates on the wall is so 2010.
Geel lijkt terug van weg geweest.
En borden aan de wand is zo 2010.
They think so too at Ariadne (interior decorating magazine).
And if you don't have collected enough plates already you can buy this wall paper by Studio Ditte
Here you see 2 trends in one: the birdhouse.
And of course they have bird house wallpaper too! (also: thrift wood, toy cars and buttons).
There was a huge bird house at the 'outside' pavilion.
Of course I saw some hanging plates and wallpaper over there too!
This wallpaper is here to stay, this^ one is very Fête et Fleurs
Behang blijft voorlopig. Dit^ is zo Fête et Fleurs
Not only green recycling is a trend, real green is too.
Here a table and chairs filled with sedum and moss and walls filled with plants.
Though there were also fake trees, made out of card board by Ferry Staverman.
I guess no one ever throws another card board box away when you've seen this:
Artwork by Couzijn van Leeuwen, made entirely out of card board.
And staples and tape of course.
Oké ook van plakband en nietjes.
All time favorite Sjakies was at the Woonbeurs too.
Their rugs are really something else.
I fell in love with these affordable Portuguese tiles.
I thought the Ariadne house^ was a tad disappointing.
Whites and blues only and not very much inspiring details.
Eerlijk gezegd vond ik het Ariadne huis^ een beetje teleurstellend;
Alles in blauw en wit en weinig verrassende details.
I was very happy to see that Weijntjes still put these door knockers on the market. You can have them too if you like!
It was a fun day at the Woonbeurs. I do hope that you enjoyed it too,
talk to ya laterrrr...

Liefs Ester

LILI!!! No wonder you are so exhausted my dearest....this looks like a great event! I TOO LOVE THAT FIRST FRENCH POST OFFICE DESK! That is the perfect work space! Shelves and a hardy surface. Perfect. And the FÊTE ET FLEUR WALL...Oh, do I know my sis in law's butterflies! How nice of you sweet Lili to come to see me even though you are so tired. Last night, I was so fatigued. My new school schedule is extremely taxing on my mind and body. This weekend is just fun. I went out today and spent some hard earned and saved up cash on some pillows that I have had my eyes on for a long time for my new studio. The weather is cool, colorful trees and full of cozy dreams. I hope you get your rest and start off a new week refreshed. Lovely post as always sweet friend! BISOUS, Anita

Hello Lili,
Thanks for taking all those photos. You're so good about taking a camera with you when you're out and about. Like Jeanette, my favorite is the tower of suitcases and all those pretty boxes.

Hi LiLi, Thank you for taking us with you to that fair! It's interesting to see what the new trends are. Not all of them really talk to me but I sure love that wonderful assortment of suitcases. The butterfly wallpaper is very pretty and that cardboard artwork is amazing. I totally agree with you on that white and blue room. It lacks details and soul.
Have a great Sunday!
xoxo,
Julia

Thank you for sharing ALL LiLi, It's all so colorful and creative. Cool to see what's going on in your neck of the woods artistically. Especially like the rug and the door knockers but ALL fabulous!

Lieve groet, Jeanette

Thank you, thank you for taking me to the fair Lili. I love home fairs. You get so much inspiration from them. I love garden fairs too.
I loved the rugs. So many pretty colors, and the patterns too. I think that giant bird house was awesome, but I would be very, very afraid of the bird that nests in there, wouldn't you? And think about all the bird poop there would be to clean up!LOL!

There was so much to see and I saw so many great ideas. Like the wall papers and tiles.

AHHHHH LILI!!! You came for a cup of tea with me in my cozy little gray and gold corner....how lovely dearest. You did not MISS my post, but rather, I wrote it last weekend for this week! My job is so busy that I don't even have a moment during the weeknights to prepare a post, so weekends, I try to enjoy writing and preparing ahead.....the teacher in me always thinks AHEAD!!!! OH I had fun trying to write a cinquain poem...I think I will do more this weekend! And dear one, how I wish you really could sit by my fireplace and sip on some lovely vanilla tea. A blogger friend in my city sent me THE BEST black tea infused with vanilla and citrus; perfect for our cool weather! I am glad to hear you are having a sunny day.....I hope you have more my dear.....bisous, Anita
