Gent

We spend the weekend in Gent. It was my husbands' birthday gift to me.
Despite the bad weather we had a fab time. Gent is so much fun;
Gent is gewoon heel erg leuk.
Our hotel
Ons hotel
View from the hotel; we are looking at the Gravensteen, a genuine castle!
Looks like they are building it here, but I believe it is there for quite a while now! In fact all of Gent is filled with constructors, those Belgians  are definitely hard workers.
Inside the hotel.
Hotel interieur.
Hotel corridor.
Gang in het hotel.
Next to the hotel, mother and daughter 'the Fallen Angels'.
Typical Gent canal.
Gentse gracht.
Interior of Gent mustard factory and shop 'Tierenteyn'.
Lovely and admirable girl volunteering at the Oxfam Novib (thrift) shop. I bought a vintage kitchen towel there for only 10 cents!

Yep nice people, lovely food, beautiful buildings and now I am dead tired. So there will be a part 2 of LiLi's adventures in Gent. But first I am going to see what you guys have been up to this weekend!
Before I forget: a big thank you to Madelief, her blogpost about Gent was the inspiration and starting point of our trip!

Have a fun start of the week,
xoxo LiLi M.

Hallo lili,

Oh lucky you, what a wonderful and fun birthday gift.
I have always wanted to go to Belgian, for whatever reason and I don’t know why I have this fascination for that country. I think it may have stated after visiting the 1964 World’s fair or more likely it is my love of the Belgian Waffle.
I can’t wait to see part two; I love how you always take the time to take us with you on your travels.

LILI! PRECIOUS LILI! SOOOO NICE TO SEE YOU and to know that you had such a lovely time! Yes, I really must get over to Europe again. Do take care of that throat of yours; I took my flu shot about 2 weeks ago, because as a teacher, YOU CATCH EVERYTHING! We are having extreme winds today and that is one carrier of pesky germs, so I am covering up!!! HAVE A BRILLIANT DAY MY SWEET LILI! Anita
