Things on Thursday / Dingen op donderdag

Still dull February weather over here, so I put some tulips (not from Amsterdam but from China) in very small old bottles on the branches in the windows. I admit the background is distracting and I have to take a photo against the light, but I do love the effect. I'll try to make a photo from the outside.
I still haven't started to crochet a blanket as I am making small presents for a lot of birthdays since December (I should update you soon). But I did crochet a few things, amongst those this clothes hanger for a new born girl. As I don't know the taste of the parents, this might make a useful present anyhow (if you don't like it it is easy to hide).
So this is the complete present: I made the card for Lieke (that is the girl's name) of photocopied fabric. This cheers me up on a dull day like today.

I went to the goodwill store today. I haven't been there for ages. I found this cute little candy tin, which I thought was easy to clean. Mmm I should leave that up to the professionals next time.
I'm longing for the flea market season!
What about you?

Oh what a clever idea to hang tulips in the window like that, the look is so pretty.
I think I will borrow this idea for Easter, if that is ok with you…????

The days are dull here as well and we still have over a foot of snow on the ground.
Spring cannot come fast enough for me …

I love your flowers also and your distractions outside what I wouldn't give for a little of that...I passed by 4 moose this morning I guess thats a different distraction....I would love to smell city air for a while.
I think the snow is getting to me I went through three thrift stores today and came home empty handed.
I can't wait though for the season to kick into gear either!! well I better go for now, have a great weekend, Momma.

The tulips in the window are a great blur of color during such gray days, LiLy.
The cloths hanger is very sweet and such a lovely gift.
Have a wonderful weekend!

What a cute present for the little girl! At my favourite flea market there is a box outside the store with hangers for free. I always take a look there and find wooden hangers and sometimes even hangers binded with plastic ribbons. The hanger really makes your gift complete. Yeah I'm in the mood for thrift and flea market shopping now. In the end of the summer I must go to farm auctions, then you can really make bargains. One I was on , chests from 18th century was sold for only 30€.
Have a lovely weekend! /Therese

Fijn weekend

Hi dear Lili,
I think your window decor is just what a person needs to take her mind off the gloomy weather.
You must smile everytime you look at it. SO lovely!!!!
What a great idea, copying the fabric of the dress to make a very personalized card for the new baby. I would have never thought of that. It just gives the gift that extra special touch. And the hanger makes it all the more special.

Oh yes, I am certainly ready for the flea markets to start. I love your little tin.
hugs from here...
