A collection of 21: pitchers

Today 21 pitchers. (thank you Barbara for your advice on the meaning of 'pitcher').
(click on each photo to enlarge, je kunt op elke foto klikken om hem te vergroten)
I just didn't realize I had this many (and more) pitchers.
I used to have an awful lot of teapots, but I think you can do more with pitchers. A pitcher on a table is good to look at, you can put a bunch of flowers in it. You can use them for water or milk. Let's take a closer look:

If you drink tea or eat something here in the drawing room, we say 'salon', we'll use the red on cream mixed and matched tea/dinner set.
In the kitchen we use the cream and pastel tableware, it is Dutch, it was made in Maastricht by Petrus Regout.

One violet pitcher is part of the violet collection in my bathroom. The July banner in my sidebar shows the violet collection in the bathroom. I use the other pitchers with violets as seasonal decoration.

De grote kannen zijn eigenlijk lampetkannen.
This pitcher is part of a washing set.
LOL!
The two totally white pitchers are in the cupboard in the garden, second door on the left, middle, you see? The photo is from last year, I still have to clean the cupboard after winter, but I'm too busy LOL!

This is one of my favorites. Far from perfect, it was a bargain, but I love it. I use it as a vase, with a glass vase inside or just like this, only for decoration.
When I gathered my pitchers to count them for this project, I also gathered the small pitchers from the children's tea sets that I collect. I just couldn't help myself taking a photo of the smallest pitchers. I did a post on children's tea sets here

I already thought that I didn't need the white enamel pitchers in the basement. I lost count but I have more than 21 pitchers and I love them! Most people I know, who collect vintage stuff, start with or still collect vintage tableware. At this moment I have a week spot for the blue on cream French tableware to mix and match, but I can deal with it. What is your favorite at the moment?
Thanks for visiting me and leaving me such sweet thoughts, have a nice Sunday,
xoxo LiLi M.

Oh Lili,
You enchant me dearest. Every photo is a dream for me, a dream to see and touch all of these beautiful things! My absolute favorite is the violet collection. A friend of mine here in my city loves violets. She is from the blog Gilded Moons...and may I snatch the photo of the violets and send it to her to give her a heads up on your blog, and to send her a message of cheer for the day? Lili, everything here speaks of your gentleness and zest for all beauty. MErci mon amie Néarlandaise!!!

Bisous, Anita

Oh my goodness girl...you are so lucky that you live far away from me. I would be so tempted to come and 'borrow'some of your pitchers and see if you would even notice they were gone. Of course I would leave some for you.lol
I am so in awe of that cupboard in your garden! What a treasure.
I love all your enamelware!

You're welcome - anything I can do to help along your lovely posts is my pleasure! How did I miss the fact you have a garden cupboard? Also, I need to know more about that plate and cup holder with the pastel dinnerware. Is that new? Old? I love, love, love it.

My favorite collectible as always is something small and expensive (and unusual)! That's how my tastes run- I love little bits of history... When we were in France I found so many neat little things for the shop. I'm just hoping other people like them and that they'll sell! It's so hard to know what people are looking for...

SweetAnnee said...

Oh I don't have one tea pot..and I just won a cool tea cozy.

I do have granite ware body pitchers. I love them..and you have some awesome ones!!

Hum..my fave will always be enamelware..I could never have too many.

Ahh, LiLi, I was wonderering where you would store all your collections. Now I know, you have furnished your garden ;-)!
Even though I love pitchers, not many have found their way to me yet. I think that has to change when I look at your gorgeous pitchers! Again a great collection, dear LiLi!
Hugs,
Julia
